I really haven't found too many differences in recognition, no matter what I use. I haven't tried Journal (although I'm sure it's still on my tablet somewhere.) Neither OneNote nor GoBinder do a very good job with my handwriting. (I admit that my handwriting is pretty awful.) The TIP is not awful, but not quite good enough such that I can just write.
Interestingly, where the tablet shines is Chinese handwriting recognition. It's not 100%m but it's much better than English recognition. It's almost usable for writing text. (If only I were more fluent...)
