Yeah, I'd always imagined that Rufus Sewell would have a bigger movie career than he's actually had. Still, he's terrific up on the stage.
As for my stories, I decided that this year I wasn't sending a story out until it was really as good as I could make it. (This sounds silly, but last year, I kept rewriting bits between submissions. The stories improved, but I want to get it to the first market in that shape, not the fifth.)
So I fixed a bunch of things that have bugged me about "Detours on the Journey Home." That just went off to Realms of Fantasy.
I revised "Resistance" to incorporate your crit. That just went to Eclipse Two.
"Lying in Wait" got mostly rewritten. (It now has an ending. W00t!) I hadn't sent it out anywhere yet, so this story is the test of whether I'm sending out stories I'm happy with or not. I just mailed it to F&SF.
(The laser printer printed out everything so much more quickly than my inkjet. Very cool.)
Since "Running and Falling" is at IGMS, I have four stories out right now. That's actually the most I've ever had out at once. Everything I'd consider sending to an editor is at an editor.
This means I now have no excuse to avoid digging into two other stories which I need to rework, and a third that I need to start. (Actually, I also keep meaning to do something with my "Hats of War" story, but I never get around to it...)
